Newport Coast

An upscale, private neighborhood with unbeatable views and real estate opportunities

Welcome to Newport Coast

Life doesn’t get much better than on the Newport Coast. With its sprawling estates and breathtaking sunsets, the real estate here is sought-after and meant for the elite investor.

Known as the "Pacific Riviera,” the 7,700-acre Newport Coast community is at the eastern edge of Newport Beach. This prestigious, world-class community inhabits the south Orange County coast between Corona Del Mar and Laguna Beach. Newport Coast features panoramic views from the coastal canyons to the Pacific Ocean.

Developed in the 1980s, the Newport Coast area encompasses about 9,432 acres, 75% of which is dedicated to open space or golf courses. Look no further for your dream home with sweeping views of the ocean in one of the most sought-after neighborhoods in America.

People and Lifestyle

The people of Newport Coast are successful and thriving — they bought into an elite community and work hard to keep the neighborhood clean and well-manicured. A love for the surf, sand, and harbor is common amongst all residents, and many are involved in committees, organizations, and golf clubs around town.

The mantra here is about enjoying the good life, and many residents have a relaxed mindset and love taking advantage of the world-class beaches and restaurants in the area. It’s truly a serene and unique place to make a home if you have the opportunity to do so.

Dining, Entertainment, and Shopping

Newport Coast is obviously close to the variety of restaurants in Newport Beach, but it’s also home to its own high-end spots. For a tropical setting, try Javier’s on Pacific Coast Highway for some of the best margaritas in Orange County or Bear Flag Fish Co. for daily fresh seafood dishes. The infamous Mastro’s Ocean Club is the place to enjoy high-end steak, raw bar dishes, and live music with a well-made martini. And for lunch with a view, Back Bay Cafe has traditional California cuisine paired with al fresco dining right along the harbor — perfect for watching boats come in.

For out-of-town guests or staycations, The Resort at Pelican Hill is a lush, sprawling estate with world-class golf and bungalows. Pelican Grill is their signature restaurant serving up high-end seafood and steak dishes — it’s truly the perfect place for a special occasion meal.

To get your shopping fix, there is no better spot than the infamous Fashion Island — from Nordstrom to Neiman Marcus to Lululemon, the variety of stores here is unparalleled. The immaculate Christmas tree erected during the holidays is a great setting for family portraits as well. Fashion Island offers world renowned shops such as Anthropologie, BCBG, Bloomingdale’s, Kate Spade, Nordstrom, Restoration Hardware, and many more. Abercrombie, Barneys New York, Chanel, Hugo Boss, and Ralph Lauren can all be found at South Coast Plaza.

Things to Do

Naturally, every list about Newport Beach starts and ends with the beach. Crystal Cove State Park is 3.2 miles of coastline for running and walking trails, pristine beaches and is the home of the infamous Beachcomber Restaurant. Down in Newport Beach, the most popular beach is Corona Del Mar, which is full of coves with rock pools for kids to play in.

The Newport Beach Farmers Market is a popular Sunday activity for residents who want to shop for fresh produce and locally curated goodies. Spa Gregorie’s and The Spa at Pelican Hill are the two top-rated spas in the area where you can pamper yourself. The Crystal Cove Shopping Center is home to events and fundraisers at the various upscale restaurants.

Orange Coast Winery is a tasting room in the heart of Newport Beach that is great for a weekend experience with friends or a date excursion.

Finally, Coastal Peak is a sweeping recreational park with baseball fields, a playground and walking trails, all with panoramic views of the ocean.

Schools

Newport Coast runs on the Newport-Mesa Unified School District and includes the communities of Newport Beach, Costa Mesa, and Corona del Mar. There’s a well-rounded mix of great public and private schools in the area, and families absolutely love the wealth of fantastic education available to their children. We recommend doing research on each school to see where your child will fit in best.
